Amazing Earth focuses on the study of the earth and its natural processes. Participants will have the opportunity to explore various topics related to geology, meteorology, and ecology through hands-on activities and experiments. They will learn about the formation of rocks and minerals, the water cycle, weather patterns, and the interdependence of living organisms and their environment. The program aims to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy, while also raising awareness about environmental issues and the importance of conservation.

Chess Wizards is a premier chess education company providing fun, informative and challenging chess lessons to students in PreK-8th grade. Our program is made for children at every step of their chess journey – no matter the skill level – with classes that build upon each other, starting with the basics and moving toward more advanced lessons as your child progresses from one session to the next. Chess Wizards teaches children how to problem solve, think critically, win graciously, and accept defeat with dignity and sportsmanship. Students will be divided into groups according to their chess experience. At the end of this session, each student would have had the chance to participate in a mini-chess tournament.

Each session will feature exciting crafts that encourage imagination, problem-solving, and self-expression. As old-school as Cos Cob itself - Dodgeball! Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge your way to an exciting afternoon. Practice overhand and underhand tossing, as well as catching and spatial awareness. Dodgeball seems plain and boring? Not at Cos Cob- we have a few fun tweaks to modify any class to the desire of the students involved.

Back by popular demand. This game combines dodging, striking, running, and jumping, with the objective of being the last person standing. Players hit the ball at each other with their hands, and are eliminated if the ball strikes them on or below the knee. Sign up quickly before you get eliminated!

Come join Mrs. D’Amato, a 4th Grade teacher, in our Makerspace in the Learning Commons, for an hour of inventing, creating, solving, exploring, and having fun! Students will have an opportunity to build with Legos, use Osmo, and complete STEM challenges. Come join the fun!!

Students will play a PE class favorite! A game similar to kickball, but with more cardio-respiratory endurance required and no foul balls, students will enjoy an hour of fun.

Our chefs-in-training will create a variety of recipes that cover the full spectrum of the rainbow! From Orange Tarts, to Blueberry Cheesecake, to Purple Coleslaw, to Rainbow Veggie Kebabs, this session uses a wide array of colorful ingredients both familiar and new. Foundational cooking skills will be taught, including proper techniques for baking, roasting, measuring, mixing, slicing, dicing, and, of course, kitchen safety!

In this vibrant class, young artists will learn how to plant their very own vegetable garden while crafting delightful garden-themed projects from clay. As the flowers bloom and seeds sprout, kids will explore the magic of the earth, all while expressing their creativity through hands-on pottery.
