Discover, experiment, and create with Ms. Roth! Students will explore a variety of mixed media materials and art processes in a small class setting which encourages self-expression, risk taking, curiosity and creativity.

This class will focus on building skills for musical theatre performance. Students will learn to vocally blend and creatively work as an ensemble, as well as staging (or stage movement and blocking), and how to not just sing better, but to also act a song for an audition and performance. Acting games and exercises will be incorporated as well. The class will develop a few different musical numbers from various musicals that can be performed in an informal showcase on the final date.

This class allows students to explore a variety of acting tools and techniques including improv, character creation, scripted scenes/sketches and commercials. It is designed for students who wish to broaden skills without the pressure of rehearsing and preparing a performance. The budding performers will build confidence, presentation, social and public speaking skills.

Chess Max of Greenwich is part of the Chess Max Academy chess school's system and is founded and organized by Grandmaster Max Dlugy, a former World Chess Champion. The program has raised over 25 National Chess Scholastic champions, and many schools associated with Chess Max Academy have won top places in the county at National events. Our program is run by top level players who have been personally coached by Grandmaster Dlugy.

Ms. C, a certified Yoga instructor and trained Mindfulness Facilitator, invites 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students to join her for an hour of mind-body-breath movement designed to help you focus, balance, improve flexibility, and enhance overall well-being. Each Thursday afternoon, take a moment to unwind and relax, setting yourself up for success. This class is the perfect way to end your day on a peaceful note. Join Sew Happy to have fun learning the important skill of sewing! Projects include a mug rug, stuffed llama with leg warmers and blanket, keychain, coin purse and mini llama stuffie. Sewing projects have been shown to teach kids important skills that help them to succeed in school and life — fine motor, problem solving, sequencing, creativity, patience, and more. The projects for our after school clubs are custom printed on sustainable fabrics; and built to teach the following skills: Cutting How to thread a needle How to tie a knot How to sew on a button Straight Stitch Whipstitch Lockstitch

At SDSS Martial Arts, we teach an ancient art for modern times to help kids of all ages learn self defense, balance and coordination, as well as our 5 principles such as respect, self control and patience. All students will start as a white belt and achieve stripes on their belt as marking points for their progress. At the end of the course they will be awarded a white/yellow belt if all the achievements are made.

Who doesn't like Legos? This is one of our most popular classes among students. In this class, students are encouraged to pursue their creative thinking. We focus on teamwork skills and problem-solving. Students will be taught how to design and build different projects. In Lego Class, the possibilities are truly endless.

Designed to build fundamental movement skills, Mighty Movers keeps kids engaged with a variety of active games, relay races, balance challenges, and teamwork activities. Over eight weeks, students will develop agility, endurance, and confidence through fun fitness-based play—improving their coordination while learning to love movement!

Our chefs-in-training will create a variety of recipes that cover the full spectrum of the rainbow! From Orange Tarts, to Blueberry Cheesecake, to Purple Coleslaw, to Rainbow Veggie Kebabs, this session uses a wide array of colorful ingredients both familiar and new. Foundational cooking skills will be taught, including proper techniques for baking, roasting, measuring, mixing, slicing, dicing, and, of course, kitchen safety!

Students will be creating the Riverside School Newscast to be aired by the school on Fridays. They will learn how to use iMovie, be directors and news anchors, create special reports, learn interview skills, and research sports and weather. They build friendships and confidence in front of the camera! Join us as we bring the news to life and make headlines together. Come learn the wonders of plant and vegetable growing through hands-on activities both in the classroom and utilizing the Riverside school garden. We will learn how to grow plants as well as the basic needs to maintain an outdoor garden. Bring your green thumbs!

Calling all performers! We're looking for singers, dancers, musicians, comedians, magicians, actors/actresses, etc. to be featured in a spectacular, show-stopping, weekly segment on the Riverside Newscast

GOOOOAL! Are you a soccer superfan? If so, come join Mr.D’Andrea to play the game of soccer through small modified sided-games and fun filled activities. These activities will keep your child engaged, repeating fundamental techniques in a game-like scenario that will enhance their understanding of the game. Students will also learn good sportsmanship, rules, teamwork, and much more. Some of the games include; Soccer Treasures, Sideline Soccer, Pin-Goalie, Pin-Ball Soccer and many more. Put on your favorite soccer jersey and join the fun!

Come Join Mr. D'Andrea for the most exciting sports class at Riverside. All students will be participating in a wide variety of sports and activities including team sports, such as Hockey, Football, Handball and Basketball. Each week will be a different team sport played in a round-robin setting. Earn points each week to try become the SPORTS SPECTACULAR TEAM CHAMPS!

Join us for a blooming adventure where creativity meets nature! In this vibrant class, young artists will learn how to plant their very own vegetable garden while crafting delightful garden-themed projects from clay. As the flowers bloom and seeds sprout, kids will explore the magic of the earth, all while expressing their creativity through hands-on pottery. Let’s dig in, get our hands dirty, and watch our imaginations grow alongside our plants! This is the perfect spring experience for your little gardeners!

Nine days, 40 Contestants in Grades 3-5 . . . . each will be the ULTIMATE RIVERSIDE SURVIVORS! Contestants will join Mrs. Hancock and friends to see if they can OUTWIT, OUTPLAY and OUTLAST the other tribes. Each week our cast will begin by pulling a 'Riverside Survivor Buff' and we will get our first look at the new tribe for that week's challenges. Once we draw for spots the fun will begin! Wanna know what you're playing for? Tribe members will come on in to collaborate, cooperate and strategize as they participate in obstacles, brain teaser puzzles, scavenger hunts, games and more! Just like the favorite long running show on CBS, our Riverside Survivor Jr. contestants will have a blast navigating various challenges that will foster teamwork and build strong bonds. At the end of each week we will Tally the Votes to determine who had a good time and earn the coveted Immunity Idol. The Tribe Has Spoken - come join the adventure! Please be sure to dress in clothes and shoes that would be worn for gym class and be prepared to participate in adventures outdoors.

Come play your favorite Riverside tag games. Games include Secret Agent Tag, Hawks and Squirrels, Sharks and Minnows, capture the flag and much more. Each week, students will play two or three different tag games. This year Mr. D'Andrea has a twist to make the class even more fun!
